It’s a nice stretch of peninsula with a sublime yet rocky coast, a Jack Niklaus golf course, private residences for the super-wealthy, and two luxury properties, St. Regis and Four Seasons. So, basically, when someone says they’re going to Punta Mita for vacation, you know they’ve got some cashola.
Birthed by a development company about ten years ago, Punta Mita is still fairly new. It’s kind of like the exclusive nightclub of the moment, where velvet ropes and security determine who’s in and who’s not. Seriously.
I went through two checkpoints this morning to get to the St. Regis, where I had booked a massage at their Remede Spa, if only to check out the resort’s facilities.
